Plumbing Service Calls & Repairs ~ Denver, Colorado

Most plumbing contractors in Denver provide plumbing service (including emergency service calls), repairs, and installations.

Some of the most common plumbing service calls include:

Plugged up or clogged toilets: Typically, a toilet backs up because something other than waste and toilet paper has been tossed into the toilet or because there’s a clog in the sewage line. When all manners of plunging fail, it’s time to call a plumber who can usually fix the problem by snaking the toilet and/or snaking the sewer line.

Toilets that won’t stop running: A running toilet typically need to be adjusted or have the innards replaced. This is a situation that should be addressed by a qualified plumber as soon as possible, because a running toilet wastes gallons and gallons of water daily.

Leaky faucets: Leaky faucets are usually the result of a worn out washer, and they’re relatively easy to fix. The sooner the better, because each drip represents a loss of water, and if the drip is coming from the hot water faucet, you’re wasting energy, too.

Leaky pipes: Leaky pipes can be the result of bad seals or connections, cracked pipes, or frozen pipes that split when they thawed. Leaky pipes should be repaired quickly, before they lead to damage in drywall, floors, and ceilings.

Plugged up or clogged sinks: Sinks usually become clogged because of what’s been put in them. Avoid throwing grease, eggshells, and vegetables down your kitchen sink, and you’ll likely avoid clogs. In bathroom sinks, showers, and tubs, hair is the culprit. Be sure to install a grate or trap that catches hair before it leads to a plumbing service call.

Plugged up or clogged pipes: Pipes can become plugged up or clogged inside the house, but typically, the problem lies outside, in the sewage pipe that connects from your house to the main line in the alley or street. This is particularly a problem in the older neighborhoods and older homes in the Denver metro area, where mature trees can spread their roots for blocks and ancient lead pipes (that are prone to intrusion and collapse) are underground. A video inspection of the sewer pipe can typically uncover the problem area, and then it’s a matter of repairing or replacing the section of the pipe that’s causing the plumbing problem.

Noisy pipes: A noisy pipe is never a good sign, because it signals movement of the pipe and is a sign that undue stress is being placed on the pipe. Get noisy pipes repaired as soon as possible by an experienced plumber who can diagnose and correct the problem.

Faulty seals under toilets: Toilets have wax seals under them, which can wear out or shift as the house settles. If the seal stops sealing, the result is a leak, which usually can be detected by damage to the ceiling below the toilet. Faulty seals should be corrected immediately before they lead to extensive drywall damage or subfloor damage and/or mold.

Replacement of shower heads or bath fixtures: From time to time, shower heads and bath fixtures need to be replaced, and there are a variety of water-saving plumbing fixtures available today.

Installation or replacement of spray hoses in sinks: The spray hose in the kitchen sink is one of the best inventions ever. Thanks to the reach and flexibility of spray hoses, it’s easy to clean dishes, sinks, and countertops, but these hoses don’t last forever. When they stop spraying at full capacity or start leaking, it’s time to replace the hose, which is a fairly simple repair.

Broken garbage disposals: Garbage disposals can fail because of clogs, electrical problems, or worn out motors.  Typically, it’s cheaper to replace garbage disposal than to repair them, but a reputable plumber can advise you.
